Kiprich show Nairobi show fails as Coast concert is cancelled.
Gossip Gal poses for a pic with Kiprich
It may not come as a surprise as most people had predicted that the KICC Reggae is love show would flop due to lack of marketing. The show featuring Jamaican artiste Kiprich of the Baby Mama Drama, Telephone Ting and Letter hits, Eric Smith and Sudanese/Kenyan based singer Dynamq was supposed to happen last Friday (7th May 2010) but sadly never happened as anticipated due to a poor turnout.
The organisers ,Worth link promoters, did not market the show exposing their naivety in the industry hence a whack show that attracted less than 10 reggae fans and a few reggae selectors. So bad was the turn out, that the guest artiste did not come to their venue but stayed indoors at their rented apartment in Ngong Road.
When it was evident that there were no more people coming in the bouncers got inpatient and asked for their pay which sadly the organizer could not afford but asked local artiste Jaguar to bail him out .Jaguar however did not accept the deal.
“Kiprich was not surprised by this outcome as he had accepted it ever since he landed and so did Eric Smith and I” said Dynamq. “This was all as a result of poor marketing from the organiser’s side but I hope the Meru show will be succesful”he added.
However Deejay Lastborn, who is the main DJ ,sounded less concern even about his pay. “I really don’t care, the organizer is mature enough to know what is right” he said. Sadly the organisers were too shy to comment on the issue.

I feel bad for Deejay Lastborn if he thinks that "the organizer is mature enough to know what is right". Hopefully Lastborn wasn't owed too much $ cuz he probably will not get it. This organizer owes me & my husband $9,000 from the Luciano concert that took place in Kenya back in Oct '08. Not only has he made no attempt to repay even $1, but he is rude when I bring it up...ungreatful lil boy!! My suggestion is that all artists, DJs, etc stay away from Worthlink Marketers. Anybody can say they are a promoter. Anybody can talk the talk, but Worthlink cannot walk the walk. Until all debts are paid, they are not going to be successful. That's just how God works!
